What your e-mail program, computer and internet connection are telling others about you. Whats a cookie, and why do I want or need one ? What was that pop-up screen? How do they know how many times I did visit this site. How did they see where I was coming from and who I am? Scary stuff . Just about all you do, say and e-mail on the net is ..seen. Every company that stores information about its customers or visitors should publish a privacy policy. We offer some insight into safety and some security on the Internet. Family safe surfing is a major concern and rightfully so. I feel angry when I do a new search to find new and fun sites with things on the net to add to my childrens pages (If you have visited those pages you'll see I have been doing that for years and have compiled everything I feel comfortable to offer to children and families. ) and there in the midst a porn site comes up mixed in. (Which by the way if you happen apon a suspicious childrens site send the URL off to the US Customs website they protect all our children by tracking down and punishing websites and others that exploit children. Maybe just plain annoying exit pop-ups you click on accidently to close the darned window, not realizing you just sent the site owner your name and other information in your e-mail program. Makes me shutter that there are indeed malicious websites intent on just gathering your personal info. A Tempting entry for a great sounding contest that asks you to submit everything from what type of credit card you use down to the color of socks you are wearing.
